In June 2012, AQUITY began work with the Department of Social Development in South Africa to promote the maintenance and sustainability of the Children’s Services Directory, geared at assisting children made vunerable by HIV/AIDS and other causees and their caregivers to identify local supportive resources, and to building capacities to ensure that services for vulnerable children are accessible and of a high quality. This is made possible through the award of a three year contract from the United States Agency for International Development. The project will contribute increasing access to much needed services for the 3.8 million children who have lost one or both parents largely because of the AIDS crisis in South Africa.
